Role Summary:
The Regulatory and Compliance Specialist ensures our clients' window and door products meet all applicable regulations, building codes, and industry standards. This role involves auditing, code compliance, sales support, and managing thermal and physical testing certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Audits
Review NAFS and thermal simulation lab reports for accuracy and alignment.
Audit ERP systems to ensure correct product ratings and labels.
Ensure labelling processes comply with regulations to minimize inspection risks.
Building Code Compliance
Support WOCD procedure implementation.
Educate sales on guard load and “Super Egress” requirements.
Align ERP with code requirements (e.g., pane thickness, energy values).
Monitor and prepare for future code changes.
Sales & Customer Support
Assist with resolving inspection failures.
Identify and address gaps in modelling and NAFS ratings.
Train sales teams on regulations and IGU configurations.
Thermal & Physical Testing
Coordinate third-party thermal testing and certifier relationships.
Approve lab reports and update ERP with test results.
Support internal NAFS testing and documentation.
Process Improvement
Enhance internal water testing procedures.
Assess value of adding condensation and acoustical ratings.
Improve shop drawings and installation documentation for supply-only clients.
Qualifications:
15+ years in window and door manufacturing, preferably in compliance roles.
Strong regulatory knowledge (NAFS, NRCAN, NFRC, IGMA, QAI, NBC, etc.).
Proficient with ERP systems and MS Office (especially Excel).
Experience in SOP development, training delivery, and process improvement.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Technical diploma in Industrial Engineering is an asset.
