OVERVIEW: Bass Installation is a construction company located in Mississauga, Ontario specializing in the supply and installation of glass on skyscrapers, office buildings and hi-rise residential buildings throughout the GTA. We are currently looking for a full-time Drafting Technician to join our team.
DUTIES: Reporting to the Pre-Construction Project Manager, the successful candidate will be located at our head office in Mississauga and will work within the Estimating and Pre-Construction department, assisting with projects.Responsibilities include:
• Design, draft, and prepare shop drawings and proposal drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets, and other data required.
• Prepare designs using AutoCAD, REVIT, or a related application.
• Read, interpret, and review architectural and structural drawings and specifications including floor plans, elevations, sections, dimensions, general notes, design criteria, etc.
• Adhere to drafting standards to produce engineering plan sets, including surfaces, alignments, and profile views.
• Create detailed fabrication and component drawings for factory production.
• Prepare detailed assembly drawings for the field installation department.
• Prepare glass and aluminum materials take-off and RFI documentation for assigned projects.
• Create glass panel drawings for glass orders.
• Collaborate with the field operations team and applicable parties to develop detailed construction documentation, as well as to revise and finalize designs.
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and proficiency in reviewing drafts before submission to the team.
• Manage multiple projects and their deliverables simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines.
• Provide feedback on current design processes, and tools to streamline and promote best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• University Degree or College Diploma/Certificate in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in architectural, construction, pre-construction, or related industry. Experience in curtainwall industry is preferred (storefront, curtainwall, etc.).
• High proficiency and in-depth knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, Bluebeam, Excel, and related software.
• In-depth knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, glazing and building envelope.

Salary Range: $60,000 – 75,000 annually, dependent on experience and education.
