The push by the Canadian government for much more energy efficient buildings is driving many home builders away from the prescriptive path of compliance to energy codes to the performance path. When builders use the performance path, the house will have an energy analysis done to prove compliance. Providing the energy modeler doing the analysis of the house with detailed information on your windows and doors will allow them to get the best performance out of your products. In many cases, providing detailed data may allow the energy modeler to show that upgrading the windows is a lower cost option than other options to improve the energy performance of the house.
