Update on the Canada Greener Homes Grant (CGHG) Program

See below for a messge from our friends at Canadian Association of Consulting Energy Advisors (CACEA)

Natural Resources Canada is sharing an update on the Canada Greener Homes Grant (CGHG) program, part of the broader Canada Greener Homes Initiative.

As the program operates within a fixed budget, available funds are now almost fully allocated, and the program will soon be closing to new applicants. You may be aware that Enbridge, our co-delivery partner in Ontario, already closed intake to new applicants on February 5, 2024. Please be advised that the national portal will close to new applicants at 5:00 PM EST on February 12, 2024. Our co-delivery partners in Nova Scotia and Quebec will be providing messaging on exact dates in the next few days.

Moving to the next phase of the Canada Greener Homes Initiative will allow us to focus on ensuring a smooth journey for over 300,000 homeowners who are in the process of completing their home energy retrofits.

Existing active applicants will continue to have access to the online CGHG portal and will continue to be eligible for applicable support until the program comes to a close.

Applications continue to be accepted for other Canada Greener Homes Initiatives including the Canada Greener Homes Loan program, the recently enhanced Oil to Heat Pump Affordability program or the Canada Greener Affordable Housing program.

Given the tight timeframes, NRCan wanted to share the closure dates with you as soon as possible, and prior to it being announced to the general public.
