On April 21, Top Glass, Canada’s trade event for the architectural glass industry, will take place online with a mix of content guaranteed to appeal to architects, glazing contractors, glass fabricators and anyone else involved in facade design and construction.
The event kicks off at 11 ET with access to 16 (and counting) virtual exhibits from Canada’s top architectural glazing suppliers and industry organizations. Opportunities to chat and view on-demand supplier content will be active.
At 11:30, Gary Watson of Diamond Schmitt Architects presents his reflections and projections for the future of buildings and the urban environment in a post-COVID world. Designers and design-build professionals will get some food for thought on how they will need to think about their plans going forward.
Next, Mark Jacobson of Kuraray goes deep into lamination technology and how new advances will meet the challenges of tomorrow for energy efficiency, security, sound control, daylighting, esthetics and more. Fabricators can get a glimpse of new possibilities leading to profitable and effective new products.
Mid-afternoon sees Will Nash of WSP take the digital stage to explain embodied carbon and how this emerging environmental measure will increase in importance as regulators crank up efforts to combat climate change. He’ll present guidance on sourcing low-carbon products – a key information need to meet the coming standards.
Finally one for the installers. Rik Vandelinde of Winsafe is going to take us around the technology we all depend on to get the job done with a look at the latest requirements and innovations in swing stage design. Have your questions ready for this top expert in working at heights.
Top Glass is made possible as a free online event by the generous support of Platinum Sponsor, Oldcastle Building Envelope, and Gold Sponsor, SolidCAD, along with our association partners, the Ontario Glass and Metal Association, the Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance, the Construction Specification Council and Fenestration Canada.
