FREE – PEIA Energy Breakfast Webinar via Zoom

Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 7:30am – 9:00am – PST

Presenter: Al Jaugelis, Director, Regulatory Affairs at Fenestration Canada

TOPIC: Windows: Energy Performance Meeting the Climate Challenge Today and Tomorrow in Canada

In the past, standards for residential window manufacturing and installation lagged behind in the efficiency improvements that energy use systems and technologies were able to achieve.  After the widespread adoption of dual pane windows in the 1970’s, improving the energy performance of Canadian residential windows stalled until the introduction of low-emissivity glass coatings in the mid-1980’s.  The ENERGY STAR volunteer labelling program, which included windows, was adopted in the 1990’s by the Canadian energy utilities offering efficiency program incentives.  And it was 2010 when the North American Fenestration Standard (NAFS), first published in 2005, was written into the National Building Code of Canada (NBC).Please join us to hear Al, a recognized conference speaker, about where the Canadian residential window industry standards and regulations are today and how evolving fenestration standards and building codes will contribute to Natural Resources Canada’s 2030 Aspirational Goal of net-zero-ready new residential buildings.

Zoom meeting details: Registration is not required. Webinar details will be posted online to www.peia.biz in advance of the event.
