Effectively immediately, NRCan will email registered models in forms without macros in the Excel 2003 format (.xls) to most Participants. These forms are limited to 10,000 models and will not calculate.
Participants with more than 10,000 registered models will continue to receive the current Fenestration 8.67 calculating form.
NRCan is experiencing increasing difficulty with emailing the current Excel submission forms to you due to overzealous firewalls and aggressive anti-virus programs. In many cases, e-mails are not received at all. The Participant is unaware that we have sent an e-mail and NRCan is unaware that the e-mail was deleted. As firewalls and anti-virus programs are upgraded, our e-mails may suddenly being to be deleted without anyone’s knowledge. What works today may not work tomorrow.
In addition, some participants also use an Apple based operating system while others are still using Excel 2003. Both are incompatible with the current series of Version 8 forms.
The current Fenestration 8.67 calculating form will still be available on the NRCan File Exchange website. Participants who receive non-calculating forms from us may transfer their data (with the exception of the NRCan Reference Number, Energy Rating and ENERGY STAR zone qualifications) to a calculating form and also submit that to NRCan if they wish to do so.

Lastly, NRCan is exploring the option of doing all calculations only when data is imported into our database. This would mean that all submission forms would have no macros and would not be able to calculate.
