The Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes (CCBFC) published the 2020 National Building Code and National Energy Code for Building at the end of March 2022. This is about a year and a half delay resulting from Covid issues and the extensive work on the two energy codes.
The Standing Committee on Energy Efficiency (SC-EE) is responsible for developing the code language for the National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB) and Section 9.36 of the National Building Code. The standing committee on energy efficiency (SC-EE) is moving forward on the development of the 2025 code. Due to the late publishing of the 2020 codes the 2025 code cycle will be a short one.
