Application Closure Oct 1 - Canada Greener Homes Loan

An update from our friends at Natural Resources Canada.

The Canada Greener Homes Loan (CGHL) has been successful throughout Canada. As a result, the program’s funding will soon be fully allocated, and the application portal will close.

Portal closure date

• The last day to submit an application is October 1, 2025. Loan applications will not be accepted after this date.

• Note: Submitting an application does not guarantee approval or funding. Applications will be processed in the order they are received until all funding has been allocated.

EnerGuide evaluation requirement

• To submit a loan application, your pre-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation results must first be submitted to Natural Resources Canada by your energy advisor’s service organization

• Before incurring any costs, speak with your energy advisor to confirm whether you can meet the loan application deadline. If meeting the deadline is possible, schedule your evaluation immediately

Important reminders

• The cost of an EnerGuide evaluation is the responsibility of the homeowner and is not covered by the CGHL program

• Obtaining an evaluation or incurring related costs does not guarantee eligibility or approval for a loan

• It is strongly recommended that homeowners do not begin retrofit work or sign binding contracts until a loan decision has been communicated
