The Standing Committee on Energy Efficiency (SC-EE) is responsible for developing the code language for the National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB) and Section 9.36 of the National Building Code. SC-EE is currently working in two areas: first completing the 2020 NECB and Section 9.36, and second beginning the work on the 2025 codes. SC-EE last met on July 15, 2021 at this meeting they have completed and submitted all the proposed changes to both the NECB and Section 9.6. During the meeting the committee discussed an appeal to the PCF 1617 by the Canadian Home Builders Association (CHBA). The committee also formed to new task group to work on the 2025 code. There were also meetings of the task group working the User’s Guide for the energy codes.
