Fenestration upgrades under GH program?

During our NRCAN session at WinDoor a question about the product type upgrades under the Greener Homes program was posed to the presenter.

A response from Diana Charest from NRCAN provided this info. Furthermore, there was a question in the Q&A portion of the presentation asking what proportion of retrofits in the GH program are for windows and doors. The answer I found from program stats, is that “more home owners upgrade to ENERGY STAR windows and doors than any other retrofit, approx.. 45% of paid home owners to date.”

CONTACT AT NRCAN FOR THERMAL SUBMISSIONS

Who would be the person for submission of thermals to NRCAN ? If someone can share name and email, appreciate that. Thanks

Hi Sudhir, i had quick chat with Erin, see her info here.

Manufacturers are required to send product model information to NRCan for ENERGY STAR certification through their certification agency. NRCan’s list of authorized certifying agencies can be found here: https://www.nrcan.gc.ca/energy-efficiency/products/product-information/windows-doors-and-skylights/contact-information/17103

I was wondering when the PowerPoints and/or recordings from the Spring Conference 2022 might be posted.

NRCan CGHC rebate

Regarding the CGHC if a window cost is less than $250 with the customer get a rebate of $250 or the amount equal to the cost of the window?

Clarification from the Greener Homes QnA page. The homeowner cannot get a rebate that is greater than the cost of the window itself. Like all eligible measures under the Canada Greener Homes Grant, homeowners will have to provide an invoice as proof of purchase and will also be asked to declare any other rebate(s) they might have had when purchasing the windows or from provincial or municipal program(s). Calculation of the final incentive level will factor in those elements and the total reimbursement cannot exceed 100% of the invoice itself. For eligibility amounts, please see GH website.

Has the group ever thought of having a National Commercial Insurance Plan - offering large discounts for manufacturing companies that join?

CFIB is the way to go. We also have Federated Insurance as a partner of the association.
