Rick Pries (Veka Canada) - December 8, 2014
On behalf of Fenestration Canada, I want to thank all exhibitors and attendees for attending our 20th anniversary show. To mark the occasion, we recognized the people responsible for starting the show, as well as the exhibitors who have been with the show every year since the beginning.

The Win-Door show is much more than a great tradeshow and networking event. Proceeds from the show are used to support the continued efforts of Fenestration Canada to provide the industry the support it needs in the areas of education, standards and code comprehension, to name a few.

A questionnaire will be sent out to all exhibitors and attendees in order to provide us with the feedback we need to ensure the show continues to be the premier show of the fenestration industry in Canada. Your feedback is very important for us to ensure that the show remains fresh and relevant.

The show dates for 2015 are November 3rd – 5th. I look forward to seeing you there!

Sept. 22, 2014 - Early clouds gave way to a beautiful day for golf at the Ontario Glass and Metal Association's fall golf tournament Sept. 18, but the big story was a huge outpouring of support for Wounded Warriors , a charity dedicated to helping Canadian Forces veterans. The OGMA collected $5,500 that will go toward helping veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and those who have had other difficulties re-integrating into society after leaving service. The tournament took place at Richmond Hill Golf Club in Richmond Hill, Ont.

Fenestration Canada is pleased to announce the release of our web based North American Fenestration Standard (NAFS) performance calculator tool for the Canadian window and door industry. The new tool calculates the NAFS minimum performance grade (PG), minimum positive and negative design pressure (DP), minimum water penetration resistance test pressure and minimum Canadian air infiltration and exfiltration requirement to comply with any provincial building code referencing NAFS-08 and A440S1-09. The tool calculates these values for 679 locations across Canada, at heights from 10 to 100 metres, for both open and rough terrain.  We anticipate that this tool will become the one stop source for determining fenestration performance levels for code compliance across Canada. It is now live and available to the fenestration industry, builders, specifiers and code officials at www.fenestrationcanada.ca.

The Fenestration Canada Annual Meeting and Conference held at the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg, Manitoba saw just under 200 participants register for meetings, social activities and various program events. It was one of the most successful offerings ever!

The association wishes to acknowledge the tremendous support received from sponsors and Fenestration Manitoba for helping make this event what it was. We wish to particularly underscore the tireless contribution of Al Dueck (Duxton Windows), who persevered in promoting the conference and effectively dispelling any misperceptions anyone had about Winnipeg as a site for the conference.
